The DEO is pleased to announce that DEO Partner, Ken Kaufman has accepted a position as President & CFO of Nuvia Dental Implant Center, headquartered in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Previously, Kaufman was CFO of Community Dental Partners of Denton, Texas.
As a DEO Partner, Kaufman offers DSO industry expertise as an advisor to DEO programs and members. He regularly speaks at private DEO member events and the yearly DEO Growth Summit. Kaufman frequently hosts DSO finance and growth topic-related episodes of the DSO Secrets Podcast, a podcast produced by DEO.
“We are very fortunate to have Ken as a DEO Partner. He generously shares his extensive knowledge of the DSO industry, leadership, and the day-to-day experience of leading a dental organization with our members. We congratulate him on his new role with Nuvia Dental Implant Center and look forward to celebrating his success,” said CEO/Partner Jacob Puhl.
Kaufman is a sought-after speaker and thought leader in the dental industry and founded DEO’s free Dental Finance Forum mastermind, the first of its kind that exclusively supports finance leaders of group practices and DSOs. He is also authoring a book, “DEO’s Financial Secrets To Grow Dental Organizations: The 9 Required Clarity Tools”, published by DEO Media, LLC, scheduled to be released by the end of the year.
Kaufman earned a business degree from BYU and an MBA from the University of Georgia in finance and entrepreneurship. Since 2004, Kaufman has served in CFO and President/CFO roles in venture capital and private equity-backed high-growth organizations, helping to drive the growth of 3 to 10x during his tenure at each.
He started his journey in dental finance in 2006. Previously, he was the President/CFO of the NOMAD handheld X-ray business until the business was sold to the KavoKerr Group. Kaufman served as CFO of Community Dental Partners for 6 years, and helped it expand from 7 practices to 70+ to date.
Kaufman has received many accolades throughout his career, such as being awarded Utah Business Magazine’s CFO of the year, making their top 40 under 40, and being named V100 entrepreneur by Signal Peak Ventures. He is also the creator of and host of the successful podcast, Net Worth Hacks.
Despite his many achievements, he still gets an enormous kick out of the role he plays in supporting clinicians as they build a new practice, welcome their first patients, and start making a real difference in their community.
The DEO is looking forward to leveraging Kaufman’s knowledge as he grows in his new role toward helping DEO members and followers successfully grow their dental companies and achieve their visions.
