REMOTE Instructional Designer

This is a full-time position (35-40 hours per week). The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000 annually, with a generous incentive program, comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k plan, company-paid short and long-term disability coverage, and paid time off. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work anywhere. Role

The Instructional Designer (ID) will be responsible for the design and development of all core (evergreen) DEO learning content. This person will follow the ADDIE model to analyze needs, design engaging and interactive content, develop courses and resources, implement new eLearning programs, and evaluate success, adjusting as necessary. The ID will work closely with the Director of Learning and Development to redesign one of DEO’s core membership programs, moving it to asynchronous micro-learning computer-based training modules. The Instructional Designer will be both the architect and the developer of the core learning deliverables that DEO provides to its members. This position is uniquely exciting due to the growth of DEO learning resources and the transition of the format from virtual synchronous to virtual asynchronous. This position will get to develop a wide range of instructional materials for both synchronous and asynchronous training, evergreen and responsive resources, and virtual and live (current climate factored in) events. This role is designed for a creative ninja who is passionate about building beautiful and engaging content to help people learn more effectively. 

Responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of all DEO core (evergreen) learning content
  • Redesign and develop the DEO Basecamp program 
  • Design and develop the DEO Immersion program
  • Develop multimedia content using video, audio, text, images, etc.
  • Design and develop learning content that engages the learner and enhances knowledge retention 
  • Design and develop slide decks for virtual training and events
  • Create learning assets and resources such as workbooks, quick guides, templates, forms, etc.
  • Catalog and organize the DEO member portal 
  • Research and propose an LMS system for DEO membership
  • Help to implement and train on LMS system both to DEO internal team and DEO membership
  • Ensuring knowledge transfer in learning materials through the utilization of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluation.

Results:

  • Increase of membership into the Basecamp program
  • Increase of conversion form the Basecamp program into the Immersion program
  • Increase of membership into the Immersion program
  • Increase of membership length in the Immersion program
  • Increase of utilization of the DEO member portal
  • Increase of member Net Promoter Score (NPS) at DEO Events
  • Increase in knowledge transfer and retention and the development of tools to measure

Requirements:

Technical

  • VERY tech-savvy and comfortable working in a 100% virtual environment
  • Experience with design and development of computer-based training 
  • Graphic design and multimedia experience 
  • Highly skilled in design layout software such as Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi, Canva. etc
  • Highly skilled in development software such as Captivate or Articulate
  • Experienced at video editing
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and understanding of SCORM  
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to instructional design 
  • Experience with utilizing the ADDIE model
  • Knowledge of Rapid Instructional Design principles and application 

People Skills

  • Highly collaborative while also able to work independently
  • Excellent written communication – very articulate and plainspoken 
  • Ability to clearly communicate project requirements, challenges, and opportunities
  • Comfortable (respectfully) challenging process, product, and people for the betterment of the learning experience
