At the $10+m in revenue mark and beyond, you are officially becoming an enterprise-level dental company or DSO, and you’re facing 1 major issue.
By now, you likely have your systems, KPIs, organizational charts, defined accountabilities, experienced staff and senior executives in the right positions, etc. BUT you still may feel like something is missing.
At this stage, you might be a little lost and don’t really know what to do next. You’ve accomplished a lot of your goals and you’ve most likely succeeded in creating a self-managing, growing, entrepreneurial dental business. Congrats, you’re a trailblazer. The problem with being a trailblazer, however, is that there aren’t a lot of barometers or benchmarks. You’ve made it to a place where few have traveled, so you don’t have a gauge for what to do next.
Also, just because you’re at this size doesn’t necessarily mean you have everything figured out in your systems, org charts, team, etc as mentioned above. We said “likely”, not “definitely”. This can be a challenge for dental groups of your size because inefficiencies in those areas at scale can be daunting fires to put out.
